State of Enterprise WordPress 2024 Survey
Now in its second year, the 2024 State of Enterprise WordPress Survey report provides an annual snapshot of how major brands and publishers are leveraging WordPress on a daily basis to accelerate their business. Based on insights from over 100 worldwide enterprises – ranging from Amnesty International and The Times to Princeton University and the University of Liverpool – this year’s findings provide in depth insights into the trends, strategies, and motivations behind WordPress adoption at scale.
Produced by Big Bite with support from WordPress VIP, WP Engine, Pantheon, Altis, and a wide number of enterprise WordPress agencies, the survey sheds light on critical factors shaping the enterprise WordPress ecosystem, from understanding the types of enterprise brands using WordPress to uncovering why they continue to choose the platform to support their needs.
One of the clearest takeaways from the 2024 survey is that enterprises chose WordPress for the same set of key features. 96% of respondents cited extensibility as a top priority, underlining the importance of customisation and seamless integration into existing enterprise workflows. More than 9 in 10 enterprises also highlighted functionality as a standout factor, with organisations leveraging the platform’s robust tools to power everything from student portals to subscription-only news sites.
Additionally, over 90% of respondents ranked usability and performance as crucial factors, reflecting how vital speed, reliability, and ease of use are to enterprise decision-makers. Together, these factors illustrate that enterprises are not choosing WordPress based on cost alone but for its adaptability and ability to meet complex and changing needs. The full report can be accessed here.
While the 2024 results demonstrate continued adoption of the platform, it’s still just as important that we continue to be proactive in promoting the latest results. By sharing the State of Enterprise WordPress annual report, we’re looking to solidify an ongoing dialogue with enterprise organisations around the globe and ensure the wider WordPress ecosystem adapts and evolves to meet the specific needs of enterprise brands.
